If you are new to Fort Collins or just trying to learn about the area you may have heard of the Max. This might sound a little confusing but just like the Mayor of Old Town, the Max is not a person. In fact this is a public transportation line that runs from North to South parallel to College Avenue or what people would consider to be our main street. For $1.25 you can ride the bus to any point along the corridor. Another $1.25 will take you back the other direction. This represents a great option for getting to Old Town, and makes homes a short walking distance away that much more valuable. If you work anywhere along the corridor it is likely easier to ride Max than to drive, especially with the difficulty finding parking in Old Town. Need to get some work done on the way to work, no worries, Max offers free WiFi on board too. If you find yourself riding that much than an annual pass is probably for you. These run $154 dollars for a year. Max runs from 5:30 AM – 11:00 PM weekdays 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM Saturdays and 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM Sundays. More information on scheduling can be found here just make sure to double check for exceptions to these times before trying to take a ride. Now that you have all the info you can become friends with Max just like everyone else in town, and after a few rides you can practically consider yourself a local.
